Brunei National Petroleum Company (PetroleumBRUNEI) and its operator Nations Petroleum today held a meeting to update its stakeholders on upcoming drilling activities on Block L. PetroleumBRUNEI was represented by its Chief Petroleum Engineer, Pg Hj Mohd Amirrudin bin Pg Hj Razali while Nations Petroleum was represented by its Vice President Mr Dave Blevins.
The meeting which was held at the Tutong District Office was also attended by the Acting District Officer of Tutong Hj Md Suffian Hj Bongsu, senior officials from various government departments and several village heads.
The meeting was a follow-up to discuss further the issues raised during the stakeholder dialogue held at Sekolah Menengah RIPAS, Kampong Birau on 5 February. Amongst the issues discussed were the Traffic Management Plan and Emergency Management Plan for the drilling activities. Two exploration wells, namely Lukut-1 and Lempuyang-1 will be drilled in the Tutong District.
Work is due to begin soon on the construction of a drilling site, after which a drilling rig will be moved onto the site to be followed by drilling of the Lukut-1 well. Upon completion of the drilling activity at the Lukut-1 well, a similar workflow will take place with the drilling of the Lempuyang-1 well. These drilling activities will take place in Mukim Kiudang.
PetroleumBRUNEI manages and regulates Block L which covers an area of 2,253 sq. km in the Brunei-Muara District and parts of Tutong and Temburong Districts.
